Detroit Electronic Music Fest 07

Just got back from the Detroit Electronic Music Fest, a three day festival for, well you can guess the rest.

The highlights for me were finally getting to see Rhythm & Sound live w/ Willi Williams, Lloyd Barnes aka
Bullwackie and Milton Henry. These guys threw down 6 hours worth of dub and raggae on the most amazing sound system I’ve heard.

The other highlight was Model 500 closing out the night on Sunday night… They played all the classics, new and old from both Model 500 and Cybotron. It was amazing to see Juan and the UR crew dropping these bombs to the home crowd. Also, a special appearance of Detroit’s best Jit crew, the X-Men added to the experience.

Other notable mentions of the festival were Monolake, Octave One, Aux 88, Shake and Kenny Larkin.

New site.

As you can see the SO site has been given a much needed update. This upgrade will make adding news/info much easier and will allow comments and discussion from you.

There is still a little bit of tweaking to be done, so you might experience a few more changes over the next few weeks… hold tight.

Enjoy.

dynArec’s Yellow Trigger on UR mix CD.

We are very excited to announce that ‘Yellow Trigger‘, a track from dynArec’s ‘Yellow Trigger ep‘ (SO-011) is featured on UR DJ Skurge’s mix CD. The Cd entitled Radio UR… Vol.01 was initially released as a Japan only CD, but has now been released worldwide by Submerge. Skurge drops old, new and unreleased UR tracks in his mix, to be included in this CD was an honor for SO and dynArec alike.
You can purchase this from Submerge.

CBS needs your help.

The Cybernetic Broadcasting System almost died yesterday. It’s basically run free of charge by one incredibly dedicated guy - Ferenc (If for the electro spotters). Ferenc has pretty much dedicated the last four years to this station and things have to the crunch.

It’s costing him 500 euros a month to keep the CBS online, advertising doesn’t make up for that, so you know where the rest comes from…

CBS is back up temporarily, just as long as it stays self funded. So if you are a regular listener, even a new listener and appreciate what he’s doing, please donate to the CBS!
